SDA STUDIOS Summer Dance July 9-Aug 10: 5 Weeks of Classes
Performance Opportunities: St.John’s Festival & Keehner Park (see info below)

Sampler Classes, ages 2.5-5: 4 classes-45 min ea, 3 hours total class time each week. An overview of our curriculum for our youngest students. Ballet is taught every day adding jazz the first 2 classes and tap the second 2 classes. All classes include stretching, strengthening and standing center dance movements, followed by across the floor and around the room exercises. Guided free dancing highlights the end of each class with an abundance of hand held props to encourage creativity. Parents may observe in the classroom the last class of each session. $50 per session.

Workshop 1 ages 6-9: 4 classes-1.25 hrs ea, 5 hrs total weekly class time. Daily ballet (30 min) technique and modern, lyrical or jazz/hop hop (45 min) technique and a short choreographed dance will be learned. Parents may observe the last class of each session. $65 per workshop, $85 per workshop with SDA-YCD class.

SDA-Youth Community Dancers Ages 8-13: *NEW* for our 10th anniversary summer! Open to dancers taking Workshops 1 and 2, this add on class is all choreography (learning dances to perform) and dancers are eligible to perform at the St.John’s Festival performance AND the Keehner Park performance in August. To participate, dancers MUST take the workshop the same week as SYCD class, so be prepared to dance A LOT! Choreography each week will be different, so if you want to learn more dances to perform, attend multiple weeks of workshops and SYCD classes.
YCD-1: July 9-12, 5-6 pm                  YCD-2: July 16-19, 5-6 pm

Workshop 2, ages 9-13: Without pointe: 4 days, 1.75 hrs each day, 7 hrs total weekly class time. With pointe: 4 days, 2.25 hrs each day, 9 hrs total weekly class time. Each workshop will include daily ballet technique and classical variations plus one of the following additional classes: lyrical, jazz/hip hop, or modern technique and choreography. Pre-pointe or pointe may be added for the final 1/2 hour. A 15 min break is scheduled between ballet and the 2nd class, parents may observe the last class of each session. Each workshop without pre-pointe/pointe: $80, $100 with YCD add on class. Each workshop with pre-pointe/pointe: $95, $115 with YCD add on class.

SDA STUDIOS Special FREE Summer Performances!

St.John’s Festival: Sat Aug 4 or Sun Aug 5 (exact date and time TBD), for dancers in SDA-YCD & Workshop 3. Dancers must be available for rehearsals during the day on either Sat or Sun, time TBD after performance date and time is set. This will be our 4th annual performance at the festival and we have a TON OF FUN preparing for it, so sign up for YCD class and dance it up this summer!

Keehner Park Amphitheater Performance: Sat Aug 11 or Sun Aug 12 (exact date and time TBD-Sat is preferred, Sun is rain date), for ALL summer dance students! Sampler Class students will perform in a special parade, a choreographed dance and a free dance. Workshop 1-3 students will perform some or all dances learned during their class time, depending on the number of students participating in each show from each specific workshop. YCD students will perform their choreography from the St.John’s Festival too! In honor of our 10th anniversary year, this is a one time opportunity to gain additional performing experience and enjoy a fun summer of amazing dancing fun!
