NUTCRACKER rehearsals are underway!

We’ve just begun Nutcracker rehearsals for Levels 6-7 and had a great weekend of dancing fun that seemed to breeze by very quickly! Levels 3-5 get underway on Fri Oct 14 and we have to cram the ENTIRE ballet into only 6 weeks of practice. It’s going to be tight but we’re going to produce the BEST production we’ve ever staged. Keep the dates of Dec 16-18 open and come to see 170 dancers grace the stage at Lakota East HS, with special performances by Miss Mary, Miss Lindsay, Miss Erica and Miss Amy for our 10th Anniversary Show!

The Academy is ready for our 10th Anniversary Season and we have so many great things planned! Look for all of the following this upcoming year: Nutcracker 2011 special guest performances by your own teachers, a Nutcracker coloring contest for charity, a Mother-Daughter and Father-Daughter dance night, SYCD performing at the Butterfly Ball in early Oct, a Spring Show Essay contest, 2 very special on location photo shoots for Levels 6 & 7 and so much more! I’ve spent the summer cleaning and dreaming about all the fun we can pack into this season leading up to our 10th birthday in Aug 2012. I hope you join me for a wonderful year of dance excitement, I can’t wait to get back into the classroom! See you around the Academy and remember: WE BELIEVE IN BALLET!

Academy Fall Classes

Fall classes begin Mon Aug 29, with NO CLASSES on Labor Day-Sept 5. Nutcracker Auditions are Sept 16 & 17, L3-5 on Friday night and L6-7 on Saturday and YES! L6 & 7 dancers will have to actually audition for the soloist roles available in the ballet beginning this year, so bring your best performance quality with you! OH! And Level 5, we have a surprise for you, a whole NEW PopRocks with brand new costumes and choreography (can you say ummm…tutu’s?) It’s our 10th Anniversary show, so lets make it the most memorable one ever! I hope to see you for classes on Aug 29!

What a fantastic summer of dancing fun! Thanks so much to all the dancers that attended our summer dance programs! We had two fabulous Open House performances and the St. John’s Festival show was awesome too! Bravo Academy dancers, I love you all! See you for fall classes beginning August 29!
